The background art work of Kimura Shinji is always amazing, and then some. This art book, released in the same landscape, hard cover format as the background art books for Tekkon Kinkreet and Children Of The Sea showcases the astounding amount of art work Kimura-san painted for the film. The main reason I was drawn to the film is because of the absolutely amazing background art work created for the film by Japanese art director Kimura Shinji, who has before worked his magic for the background art in films like Tekkon Kinkreet and Children Of The Sea. I have to admit I showed little interest when I first heard of the film because the character designs just didn’t appeal to me, but I finally made the effort to watch the film recently and it was actually better than I expected. The film was a French-Japanese co-production between Ankama Animations and Studio 4☌ and is directed by Shōjirō Nishimi and Guillaume “Run” Renard.
MFKZ (Mutafukaz/ムタフカズ) is a 2017 adult animated science fiction film based on the comic series and the short film of the same name.
